Airlines broken down by country.

When you book an airline ticket, you are buying a commodity. All major airlines fly the same routes and have similar schedules. The difference between them mainly comes down to price, comfort, convenience and safety.

As a general rule, the more expensive airlines are better than the cheaper ones. If you want to pay less than everybody else, you have to be willing to accept some inconveniences: slower service, fewer amenities and less comfortable seating.

But there is one thing you don’t have to sacrifice when choosing a cheaper airline: safety. The safest airlines have some of the cheapest fares. The most dangerous airlines also happen to be among the most expensive.
