The Huey Helicopter Company, an affiliate of the American Huey 360, LLC and owner of the registered trademark “Huey”, is a small business based in Albany, Georgia. The company was founded by CEO Jon Kettles and President Janice Kettles, to preserve and promote the legacy of the UH-1 “Huey” helicopter.
The company provides parts for the UH-1 helicopter from Vietnam. It also provides a limited supply of spare parts for other military helicopters. In addition, it restores aircraft and offers complete airframe overhauls. Additionally, it manufactures new airframes using original tooling provided by Bell Helicopter.

Huey Helicopter was founded in 1942 by Paul MacCready. Huey Helicopter was originally part of United States Armed Forces during World War II and was spun off as an independent company after the war ended.
In the early 1960s, the American military command in Vietnam found itself facing an insurgency that grew larger and more sophisticated with each passing month. The US had no helicopters suited to counterinsurgency operations and little experience in such combat.
By 1962, the Army was committed to a crash program to develop a new aircraft, called the UH-1, for “utility helicopter,” which would come to be known as the Huey. The first Hueys were barely better than existing models, but by 1964 Bell Helicopter had developed a new model that became the mainstay of US Army operations in Vietnam.
The Huey was well suited for the counterinsurgency role. Its fast speed and high maneuverability made it ideal for helicopter gunships, which could chase and destroy enemy units on the ground. It could also fly into remote areas to airlift troops and supplies where roads were few or nonexistent.
Bell built over 16,000 Hueys during the Vietnam War, making it one of the most successful military aircraft of all time.
