For those willing to brave the crowds, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are an opportunity to score some major savings on travel.

Black Friday is just around the corner and the holiday shopping season is about to kick into high gear. It’s an exciting time for both consumers looking for great deals and retailers looking to raise their bottom lines.

Despite all its hype, Black Friday is not necessarily the best time for everyone to save on travel. Many popular destinations will be even more crowded than usual as consumers look for getaways from the winter chill. For example, if you are looking for a beach vacation in Florida or a ski trip out west, it’s probably best to wait until after the holidays when prices come down. The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is often one of the most expensive times of year to travel due to a combination of crowded airports and low availability of flights.

Fortunately, there are plenty of other opportunities in November and December to find great deals on winter vacations. And many destinations that are popular in spring and summer such as Hawaii tend to have lower prices right now.

Below you can find our top picks for vacation destinations this holiday season along with some tips on how to save money while getting there!
