Chicago is a city of many things, and the summertime is the best time to visit. From the beaches along the Lake Michigan shoreline to the world-class museums in downtown Chicago, there’s no shortage of things to do. Here are five of our favorite places to visit in Chicago this summer:

1. The Field Museum

The Field Museum is one of Chicago’s oldest and best museums. It houses a wide variety of artifacts from ancient Egypt, including mummies and sarcophagi. There are also permanent exhibits on dinosaurs and other natural history topics. Visit when it’s not too hot outside; there is plenty of space to explore indoors.

2. Navy Pier

Navy Pier is one of Chicago’s most popular attractions, with restaurants, shops, rides, and more for adults and kids alike. Take a ride on the Ferris wheel for a view of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago, or take a boat cruise around the lakefront at sunset. You can also see plays or movies at the IMAX theater located here as well as watch street performers throughout the day.

4.Museum Campus – My personal favorite museum is The Field Museum but there are three other amazing museums located here too: Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum, and The Art Institute of Chicago.
