5 Reasons To Visit Dallas

Dallas, Texas is one of America’s largest cities, but it hasn’t always been known for its tourism. Nowadays it’s one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the country. This is partly due to its reputation as a business hub and its many conferences and conventions, but Dallas has so much more to offer visitors—especially for those who can fly for cheap!

If you’re looking for a new travel destination with great food, friendly people and tons of exciting things to do, look no further than Dallas. Here are five reasons why you should visit Dallas:

1. The Food

Dallas is known around the world for its delicious food scene. In fact, the city was rated one of the best places to eat by Conde Naste Traveler magazine in 2017! The city is filled with some amazing restaurants that serve cuisines from all over the world including Mexican, Asian and American fare among others. The most popular restaurant chains in town include Chick-fil-A (a Southern fast food joint), Five Guys Burgers & Fries (known for their delicious burgers), Chipotle Mexican Grill (which offers tasty burritos made using fresh ingredients) and Noodles & Company (an Asian restaurant).

1. Cowboys – You haven’t been to Dallas unless you’ve seen a Cowboys game. The stadium can hold over 80,000 people and is built with an old Western flair. You’ll feel like your in a Texas saloon! They have a famous restaurant chain called Pappasito’s that has delicious Tex-Mex food and awesome margaritas.

2. Dealey Plaza – If you’re into history, this is the place for you. This plaza is where President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed. There are memorials to JFK as well as museums that show the history of Dallas and the assassination of the president.

3. Reunion Tower – Reunion tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Dallas because it looks like a golf ball on a tee. It’s 560 ft tall, has 47 stories and it offers 360 degree views of the city from an observation deck on the top floor.

4. Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center – This convention center is where they do all of their big events such as the State Fair of Texas, concerts, and other shows/exhibits such as car shows or boat shows.

5. West End Market Place – The West End Marketplace is

We all know Dallas has some amazing food and is a great place to watch a football game or two. But, did you know there are tons of other things to do in Dallas that you might not even know about?

Dallas is full of exciting, fun-filled things to do that don’t require a huge budget, and the best part is that most of them are kid-friendly!

Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas and the ninth-largest in the United States. Headquartered in Dallas are 13 Fortune 500 companies within the city limits. The Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex hosts additional Fortune 500 companies, including American Airlines (Fort Worth), ExxonMobil (Irving), and J.C. Penney (Plano). The city has a population of 1,197,816 according to the 2010 United States Census. The United States Census Bureau’s estimate for the city’s population increased to 1,281,047 as of 2013.

Dallas was founded in 1841 and formally incorporated as a city on February 2, 1856. The origin of the name is uncertain. Popular theories include that it was adopted from the name of a ruined Scottish village or that it was named after Vice President George M. Dallas of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dallas became a major inland port and railroad hub that grew from a small number of residents into a large cosmopolitan city by the early 20th century due to the construction of major railroad lines through the city. As one historian of Dallas noted, “In this age when most cities boasted at least one newspaper, Dallas had two competing daily papers well into the twentieth century.”
