Sociology is the study of society. Sociologists examine the world, see a problem or interesting pattern, and set out to study it. They use research and analysis in order to explain what they have found.
The best way to explain sociology is to give examples of how sociologists work. You can think of sociologists as explorers setting out on a voyage. They want to know more about something that interests them so they decide to do some research.
They get their research vessel (a pen and paper or a computer) ready and head off into the unknown (which could be just down the street). They find something interesting (for example how people feel about shops opening on a Sunday) and they write up their findings so that others can share in what they have discovered.
Next, they try out some new ideas with other sociologists and then do more research. Slowly but surely, they begin to understand more about the problem at hand and can start making suggestions for future research or even for changes in policy.
The three best airlines in the world are Australian. The fourth-best is New Zealand’s national carrier.
This is not my opinion. These are the results of an objective survey, released on Monday by Skytrax, which awards a five-star rating to the world’s most luxurious airlines.
For the second time in three years, Singapore Airlines has been named the best airline in the world.
It was followed by Qantas, Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand, which received four stars each.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the airline industry went through a period of turmoil. Some airlines have managed to survive and thrive, while others have not. The airline business is an industry that has many issues to deal with, including customers’ safety and security, customer service and satisfaction, and business finances.
Two airlines in particular that have managed to succeed in this difficult industry are JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) and Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV).

JetBlue Airways is based out of New York and offers flights to most major cities within the United States. They also offer international flights to select locations in South America, Central America and the Caribbean. They are known for their exceptional customer service and their comfortable seats.
8: Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand is based in Auckland and offers flights around Australia and around the world. They have friendly employees and a great safety record with only one accident since 1976 when it was founded. They were ranked number two by AirlineRatings.com in 2014 for being green, innovative, safe and profitable.

How to improve your airline service
For the business traveller, there is nothing worse than being stuck on a plane with a screaming baby or someone with nasty personal hygiene. It’s bad enough suffering it on the bus, but in a confined space like an aircraft cabin, it can be excruciating.
